Vesterbro
is known as one of Copenhagen’s hippest neighbourhoods. You will find an abundance of small independent shops, cafés, bars and restaurants, as well as the famous Meatpacking District with its nightlife, galleries and buzzing atmosphere.
What I personally like most about Vesterbro is the relaxed local life around Sønder Boulevard. On warm summer evenings, people gather outside Kihoskh with slices of pizza and Danish microbrews, sitting on benches or directly on the pavement late into the evening. It is one of those places where Copenhagen feels both trendy and very laid-back at the same time.
Another local favourite is Ismejeriet in the Meatpacking District. On sunny days, you will often spot the long queue before you even see the shop — but that is usually a good sign in Copenhagen, especially when ice cream is involved.
